Job summary

Forged Fiber in Provo, UT is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, operations, maintenance and restoration projects.

You will work outdoors in all weather, using OTDR, optical power meters, fusion splicer, and read prints/diagrams. A valid driver’s license and 2+ years of relevant experience are required; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years fiber splicing/telecom field exp or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter and fiber identifiers.
• Ability to read construction prints and splice diagrams; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR and power meters; document results.
• Prepare, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures in aerial, buried, or manhole environments.
• Perform aerial and underground work and read diagrams/maps to complete tasks.
• Coordinate with crews and partners to resolve outages and meet schedules.
