Job summary

Forged Fiber is hiring a Fiber Tech II – Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our networks. The role covers aerial, buried, and handhole work, with fault isolation using OTDR, power meters, and fiber identifiers.

Candidates should have 2+ years in fiber splicing or related telecom outside-plant work, read construction diagrams, and maintain thorough field documentation. Must pass background checks and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber splicing in outside-plant or similar telecom environments.
• Ability to operate fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, and fiber identifiers.
• Strong reading of construction prints, splice diagrams, and As‑Built records.
• Effective documentation and communication with teams and partners.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory standards (OSHA/NESC).

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for projects and restoration.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare and repair splice enclosures across aerial, buried, and manhole routes.
• Perform testing and repairs to maintain route integrity and service.
• Read construction prints, diagrams, permits, and update records as needed.
• Coordinate with crews, contractors, and engineers to meet schedules.
