Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II – Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across our network projects. You will work outdoors on construction and restoration tasks, using OTDRs and optical meters to diagnose faults and ensure route integrity.

The role requires 2+ years in fiber splicing or related telecom work, strong safety awareness, and ability to read construction prints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training/experience.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects and restoration.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, scope and other tools; document test results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures, including aerial and underground installations; perform mid-span splices.
