Job summary

White Mountain Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to complete the fusion of optical fibers and maintain our telecom networks. You will splice and test fibers, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards while supporting both aerial and underground installations.

The role requires at least two years of fiber splicing experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass DOT physical to obtain a medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.
• Pole climber certification preferred.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network post-installation.
• Ensure splicing meets customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade fiber sheaths and mid-sheath fibers as needed.
• Provide guidance to other splicers when required.
• Complete daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Document work via daily production reports and maps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
