Job summary

Globe Communications, LLC in GCCOM-Commerce, GA is seeking a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our growing telecommunications network. You will perform aerial and underground splicing, test and troubleshoot circuits, and document work daily.

This role requires safety awareness, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. On-site training and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Six months of splicing experience or one year in telecommunications
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record
• Able to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card
• 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
