Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunications networks. You’ll ensure reliable connections and data transmission across our growing network, with emphasis on safety and accuracy in splicing work.

The role involves upgrading and testing networks, adhering to industry standards, and reporting work daily. A physical, valid driver’s license, and relevant experience are required, with benefits supporting growth and stability.

Qualifications

• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in the telecommunications industry.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
• Valid State driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily vehicle maintenance and fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports and maps.
• Other duties as assigned.
