Job summary

White Mountain Cable Construction, LLC is hiring a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunication networks. You will perform aerial and underground splicing, test circuits, and ensure workmanship meets industry standards.

The role requires at least two years of fiber splicing experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive, safety‑first workplace.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (no provisional) with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.
• Certified pole climber preferred.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
• Cut away the sheath from existing cables to reach faulty connections and remove sheath and insulation from newly installed cables.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports and map markings, keeping material usage records.
• Other duties as assigned.
