Job summary

Communications Construction Group, LLC is hiring a Fiber Splicer II to complete fiber fusion and maintain our telecommunications networks. You will perform aerial and underground splicing, test circuits, and ensure quality standards while contributing to site safety and efficiency.

This role requires at least two years of splicing experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Training and growth opportunities are available as part of our field team.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• DOT medical exam passing result and a valid medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.
• Pole climbing certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network after installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber.
• Prepare fibers for entry on loose tubes or sheaths.
• Cut away sheath from cables to access faulty connections and remove protective covers.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Document work in daily production reports and update maps and material records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
