Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer in Fort Myers, FL to build end-to-end fiber networks and join a safety-minded team. Compensation ranges from $23 to $30 per hour, with long-term project opportunities and shift flexibility.

Responsibilities include testing and troubleshooting fiber networks, operating testing equipment, and preparing fiber splice enclosures. The role requires 3–5 years of splicing experience and comfort with ladder or bucket trucks.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve common fiber optic challenges.
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter.
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco,CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-DomainReflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
