MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and help expand technology for a better community. Join MasTec and deliver high-quality service to customers while keeping safety a priority.

You will test and troubleshoot fiber continuity, operate testing equipment, and prepare fiber splice enclosures from Tyco, CommScope, and Corning. Daily tasks include using OTDR, fusion splicer, and DWDM/CWDM test gear on outdoor utility

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work on ladder or bucket truck.
• Comfortable with outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.

• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures from Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will

• Testing and troubleshooting the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

• You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck

• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime

Compensation of $25-$35 per hour.
