Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks in Corsicana, TX. You will test, splice, and troubleshoot with a hands-on approach, performing work at outdoor utility sites and using fusion splicers and OTDR equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with overtime opportunities and long-term site projects in a dynamic field service environment.

• Utilize fusion splicer, OTDR, DWDM, CWDM, OLTS, and power meters.
• Fiber design knowledge, reading documentation, understanding light levels and dB loss.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

• You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime

Compensation of $20-$28 per hour.
