Job summary

Hotwire Communications Ltd. is seeking a Construction Technician to ensure quality installation practices for video, voice, and internet services in commercial and residential settings, including IDFs and MDFs.

The role covers installations in single-family homes, condos and apartments, and involves pulling low-voltage wiring and CAT5/CAT6 drop wiring. The technician will install and service video, telephone and internet services, troubleshoot RF and network issues, and maintain safety standards

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in Internet Technologies preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
• Proven Fiber Optic Cabling experience.
• Proficiency with small hand tools and larger power tools.
• Must have active and clean, state-issued driver’s license in the state where hired.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays; on-call rotation as needed.
• Work on an on-call schedule rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation and other teams with customer activation of fiber-optic telecom in subscriber homes (single family, condo, apartments).
• Install and service full video services, including analog, digital, and HD TV.
• Install, service, and disconnect telephone and internet customers; punch down telephone lines.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
