Job summary

Lumos is seeking an Operations Service Technician I to install, test, and maintain fiber services for customers at homes and businesses. You’ll configure Wi-Fi, troubleshoot circuits, and install customer equipment, collaborating with our SOC for seamless service.

Hybrid position with dispatches to customer sites; strong emphasis on safety, communication, and hands-on problem solving. Requires a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience interacting directly with customers to troubleshoot issues preferred.
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to sites.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of normal reporting location, including home-based locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain fiber services and equipment for homes and businesses.
• Provision and configure Wi-Fi, guest networks, and firewall options.
• Troubleshoot and resolve voice, data, and video services on fiber networks.
• Handle data entry for trouble tickets, orders, and timesheets.
• Install on-premise customer equipment and cross-connects when needed.
• Support cross-functional projects and participate in training components.
