Job summary

Lumos is seeking an Operations Service Technician I to install, test, and maintain fiber services for homes and businesses. You’ll handle provisioning, testing, and troubleshooting of GPON/PON, routers, and related equipment, and install cross-connects at cabinets.

This is a hybrid role with dispatches to customer sites per daily schedule. Ideal candidates have 0+ years of experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0+ years of related experience.
• Valid, fully unencumbered Driver’s License required.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the normal reporting location.
• Experience interacting directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Experience using MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Installs & troubleshoots basic Voice, Data, and Video services on fiber networks.
• Data entry tasks: updating trouble tickets, processing orders, provisioning systems & equipment.
• Provisions & configures Wi-Fi: SSID, Guest Network, firewall options.
• Troubleshoots and resolves wireless connectivity issues.
• Installs and troubleshoots customer on-premise equipment (routers, switches, gateways).
• Installs and troubleshoot circuits (Voice, Broadband).
• Participates in departmental & cross-functional projects.
• Training components: Technician I training (non-inclusive).
