Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecom network infrastructure in Ohio. The role is hands-on, involving troubleshooting, testing, installation, maintenance, and outage restoration across transport and IP networks.

The ideal candidate will have experience with OTDR testing, Ethernet/IP networking, and fiber transport, with responsibilities including preventive maintenance and updating logs and trouble tickets.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role focused on troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of fiber optic and telecom networks.
• Experience with fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP networking is preferred.
• Maintain inventories, logs, and trouble tickets for network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber and telecom network equipment.
• Perform testing, provisioning, installation, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport and related network technologies.
• Assist with outage restoration and service recovery.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain tools, inventory and documentation; update logs.
