Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. The role involves troubleshooting, testing, installation, maintenance, and service restoration across transport and IP networks.

You will work hands-on with fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP technologies, performing preventive maintenance and keeping logs and inventory up to date.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic networks and telecom equipment.
• Hands-on testing and maintenance experience required.
• Proficiency with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
