Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure. This hands-on role covers troubleshooting, fiber testing, equipment installation, maintenance, and service restoration across transport and IP networks.

Candidates will troubleshoot fiber optic and telecom equipment, perform testing and provisioning, and support Ethernet, SONET, and IP networking, while maintaining records and inventory.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fiber optic and telecom network experience.
• Experience troubleshooting network equipment and outages.
• Familiar with fiber testing and transmission technologies.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
