Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, testing, installation, maintenance, and service restoration across transport and IP networks.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot telecom equipment, perform testing, and support fiber transport and IP networking while keeping accurate maintenance records and logs.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic networks and telecom infrastructure.
• Exposure to OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, SONET and IP networking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
