Job summary

GTS is seeking a Drop Bury Technician for Daytona Beach, FL to install and maintain buried broadband fiber or coaxial cables across residential and commercial sites. The role involves trenching, line locating, and restoring sites after work.

Responsibilities include operating trenching gear, reading layouts, maintaining bore logs, and coordinating materials. This position requires physical stamina and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Experience preferred: Utility Locating.
• Able to drill/bore in standard and high-risk areas with live utilities.
• Operate trenching equipment or use hand tools to trench or bore cable lines.
• Listen to and implement directions.
• Knowledge of highway traffic control standards.
• Understand operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Know health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Read and interpret fiber maps and CATV design prints.

Responsibilities

• Operate GTS locator and place paint lines or flags for utility lines.
• Read the job layout including valves and meters.
• Operate trenching equipment and lay duct/work, bore driveways and sidewalks.
• Maintain bore logs.
• Read blueprints and organize materials and resources for excavation.
• Restore customer lawns and landscapes to original condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
