Job summary

GTS is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to install and maintain low-voltage broadband fiber optic or coaxial cables buried underground across residential, business, and commercial sites. You will operate utility locator and trenching equipment, read layouts, perform boring, and restore landscapes while ensuring safety and compliance with project specs.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED; prior utility locating experience is preferred, and teamwork and physical stamina are

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in utility locating or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and blueprints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate GTS utility locator and place paint lines or flags for utility lines to guide safe trenching.
• Read job layouts, valves, meters, and documents that may be located.
• Operate trenching equipment and perform cable pulling, boring, and driveway/sidewalk work.
• Maintain bore logs and organize materials for excavation.
• Restore lawns and landscaping after work and maintain good customer relations.
• Other duties as assigned.
