GTS in Orlando, FL is seeking a Drop Bury Technician responsible for installing and maintaining buried broadband fiber or coax cables on residential and commercial sites. This role involves locating utilities, marking lines, and supporting safe trenching operations.

You will read blueprints, operate trenching equipment, restore yards, and work outdoors in various weather. Strong attention to safety, ability to follow directions, and good communication are essential; experience in utility

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Utility locating experience.
• Experience with trenching equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read layouts and follow directions.
• Knowledge of safety regulations applicable to utility work.

Responsibilities

• Operate utility locator and place flags/paint lines to ensure safe trenching.
• Read the job layout including valves and meters.
• Operate trenching equipment and perform bore work.
• Maintain bore logs and update field records.
• Read and interpret construction plans and design prints.
• Restore customer lawns and landscaping after work.
• Other duties as assigned.
