Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Broadband Technician I to perform basic installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers, including video, HSD, and home phone services. This role troubleshoots from the tap to customer devices and may involve fiber/copper work.

The position requires residence within 60 minutes of the Saint George, UT facility, a Tuesday–Saturday 8am–5pm shift with on-call rotation, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Attendance guidelines must be followed to meet business needs.
• May require a background check as part of the onboarding.
• On-call/standby responsibilities and occasional travel may be required.
• Must pass Safety Course curriculum and SCTE Broadband Premise Install test within 3 months.
• DOT requirements for operating large vehicles must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Performs connects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; installs outlets and equipment.
• Installs interior and exterior cable wiring from tap to customer equipment for services.
• May involve underground fiber/buried cable work and conduit placement.
• Ensures quality per OSHA, FCC, NEC, and NESC guidelines.
• Monitors and records system metrics, work orders, and customer data.
• Educates customers on services and helps them add or modify packages.
