Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Broadband Technician I for Carlsbad, NM. You will perform basic installations, disconnects and service changes for residential and business customers, including video, high-speed data, and home phone services.

This role covers fiber/copper installations from the tap to customer premises and requires attention to safety and quality. On-call/standby duties and travel may be required, with a 60-minute drive to the Carlsbad warehouse.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be available for on-call/standby responsibilities and may require occasional travel.
• Demonstrated customer service and sales skills, as well as effective communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform connects (new connects and reconnects), disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install outlets and equipment.
• Install wiring and hardware from tap to customer equipment for reception of services.
• Ensure proper signal levels and picture quality on television sets and clean up after installation.
• Monitor and record system performance and accurately document work orders and surveys.
