Job summary

TDS Telecom in Saint George, UT is seeking a Broadband Technician II to perform intermediate to complex installations and service changes for residential customers, including FTTH and RFoG/GPON. The role involves troubleshooting from the tap to customer devices, plus underground and aerial construction work, with a required 60-minute commuting radius from the local warehouse.

The position shifts Tue-Sat 8am-5pm with on-call rotation; it is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• 1+ year basic technical telecommunications experience or honorable military discharge.
• 6+ months of fiber/copper splicing and repair, installation or switch training.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow attendance guidelines and meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate and complex installation of cable wiring and hardware from the tap to customer equipment for fiber and coax services.
• Handle new connects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, relocations and outlet installations at single or multi-unit dwellings.
• Use test equipment to identify signal issues and interpret system maps and blueprints; may climb poles or use bucket truck.
• Comply with quality control guidelines and safety regulations; educate customers on services and proper usage.
