Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a detail-oriented FHA claims processor in Anaheim, CA. You will prepare and file HUD/FHA claims, follow up on proceeds, reconcile payments, and ensure timely, accurate documentation in CMS systems. Prior mortgage servicing default and FHA claims experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork and quality loan evaluation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize own work and manage deadlines over short to medium term.
• Mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• FHA claims experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately per guidelines.
• Follow up on outstanding claim proceeds on a semi-daily basis.
• Perform loan-level reconciliation of claim proceeds vs. paid/owed amounts.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and ensure timely completion of scheduled steps and document actions in system notes.
• Input action completion dates and adjust schedules as needed.
• Coordinate approvals and reschedule dates when steps cannot be completed.
• Maintain daily routine follow-up and report trends/delays to supervisor.
• Keep HUD audit file organized and updated.
• Imaging of all claim documents in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
