Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking an FHA/HUD claims processor in Plano, TX to handle filing, follow-up, and reconciliation of claims in alignment with investor guidelines. The role includes posting claim proceeds and maintaining audit files.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and quality on loan evaluation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities.
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule (short-term to longer than one month).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance, and check results for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up semi-daily on outstanding claim proceeds.
• Reconcile final claim proceeds vs claimed, paid, and outstanding amounts.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours.
• Review and ensure timely completion of all scheduled steps.
• Document servicing actions, delays, and notes in system.
• Image all claim documents timely and maintain HUD audit file.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
