The Port of Bellingham is seeking a Temporary Terminal Agent to support the Alaska Ferry System at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. The role is seasonal or year-round with less than 20 hours per week and up to 800 hours per year; weekend availability is required.

Sailing days (Fridays) are mandatory, with other weekend shifts as needed. Responsibilities include ticketing, custodial duties, vehicle staging, security, and general terminal operations.

Qualifikationen

• Combination of prior experience and service characteristics that will prepare the successful candidate to represent the Port of Bellingham and the Alaska Marine Highway System.
• At least two years of prior customer service experience preferred.
• At least a year of cash handling experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Performs ticketing duties for Alaska Marine Highway on sailing days.
• Performs regular custodial services including cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping floors, washing windows, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Provides traffic control and customer assistance in the staging of vehicles on the ferry.
• Assists with terminal operations such as parking, displays, traffic control, special events, guided tours, and building security.
• Performs security checks and follows prescribed procedures to ensure safety.
• Supports shore side activities for ferry and transportation activities.
• Raises and lowers flags and maintains flags in good condition.
• Assists in event setup and cleanup as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
