Job summary

National Construction Rentals, Inc. in Detroit, MI, seeks a Fence Helper to support the Fence Foreman in installing and maintaining fences to NCR standards.

You will assist with preparations, site safety, and customer interactions, contributing to timely project progress. The role is physically demanding and outdoor, requiring attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and readiness for travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow detailed instructions and occasionally make independent decisions.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety rules, manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Demonstrates common-sense reasoning to execute written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fence Foreman in installing and maintaining fences per NCR specifications.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure a safe work environment.
• Load, transport and secure equipment and materials for daily assignments.
• Attend job sites with Foreman and meet with customers to review project details.
• Install fence poles, erect fences and tension wires as required.
• Keep work sites clean and ensure tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
• Adhere to safety protocols and participate in required safety meetings.
