Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Hazlehurst, MS, is seeking an operations leader to oversee a feed mill. You will manage staff through subordinate leaders to ensure feed quantity, quality, and timely delivery to growers, while improving cost, quality, service and asset utilization.

Responsibilities include overseeing trucking and rail deliveries, overseeing material purchases, preparing reports for senior leadership, managing capital budgets, and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years’ progressive experience in a feed mill environment.
• Demonstrated minimum two (2) years leadership experience including conflict resolution and policy adherence.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements surrounding food manufacture.
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel) and math.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff through subordinate leaders to ensure all phases of feed mill operations meet quantity and quality goals.
• Oversee contract trucking operations and railroad grain delivery with negotiated terms.
• Oversee ingredient/raw material purchases ensuring quality and availability.
• Prepare reports analyzing production, feed costs, and performance for leadership.
• Develop and administer capital budgets consistent with policies.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
• Monitor transportation equipment performance and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure proper accounting and control of feed, drugs and ingredients.
• Mentor, coach and train employees; promote safety and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
