Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for a federal construction project at the Devens Training Base in Devens, MA. This 18‑month, 1099 contractor role supports lighting retrofit work, solar field construction, and duct sealant activities.

You will provide onsite safety oversight, manage EM 385‑1‑1 compliance, support AHAs and project safety documentation, conduct jobsite inspections, lead safety meetings, and coordinate with project management and subs to

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of federal construction experience.
• Current OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
• Active EM 385-1-1 training.
• At least 24 hours of safety and health training beyond OSHA 30.

Responsabilités

• Serve as SSHO for the project.
• Daily field safety oversight for military base construction.
• Maintain EM 385-1-1 compliance program.
• Conduct routine jobsite inspections and hazard assessments.
• Review AHAs and pre-task planning.
• Monitor lighting retrofit, solar field and duct sealant work.
• Coordinate safety with management, supervision, and subcontractors.
• Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain project safety documentation and reports.
• Promote proactive safety culture on site.
