Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer to lead the safety program on a multi-trade federal construction project in Philadelphia, PA. You will administer the Accident Prevention Plan, oversee AHAs, and ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 and contract requirements.

The role requires 5+ years SSHO experience, EM 385-1-1 training, and OSHA 30 certification. On-site work with potential after-hours and weekend requirements on a major project.

Qualifications

• Current EM 385-1-1 Training.
• Minimum 5 Years of Documented SSHO Experience.
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
• Current First Aid / CPR / AED Certification.
• Federal Construction Experience Required.
• NAVFAC and/or USACE Project Experience Required.
• HVAC / Mechanical Construction Experience.
• Rooftop & Fall Protection Safety Experience.
• Electrical Construction Safety Experience.
• Aerial Lift / MEWP Experience.
• Occupied-Facility Construction Experience.
• Experience with Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Federal Safety Programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for the project.
• Administer and support the project safety program and Government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan
• Implement project safety requirements in accordance with EM 385-1-1 and federal contract requirements
• Identify jobsite hazards and coordinate practical corrective actions
• Support preparation, review, and implementation of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Conduct routine site inspections, field observations, and safety meetings
• Track safety deficiencies and corrective actions through completion
• Coordinate safety planning for architectural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, VAV, and fire-protection work
• Provide safety oversight for rooftop work, fall protection, aerial lifts, and mechanical piping activities
• Support safe coordination of hazardous-material work performed by appropriately qualified contractors
• Maintain required project safety records, inspections, and compliance documentation
• Coordinate closely with project management, the Superintendent, QCM, subcontractors, and field personnel
