Job summary

Doyon Management Services (DMS) seeks an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to develop and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan on government and military projects. The role involves on-site safety management, inspections, and education for subcontractors to maintain compliance with EM-385, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926.

The SSHO will lead hazard analyses, coordinate with QC and site supervision, conduct investigations, and ensure proper safety documentation and training for personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of construction experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a federal construction SSHO.
• Must have recent experience working on federal construction projects with USACE and/or NAVFAC.
• 30-hour OSHA construction safety class.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare daily safety reports to ensure compliance.
• Develop and review the Accident Prevention Plan, AHAs, and crane and rigging plans.
• Provide on-site safety education for subcontractors.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager and Site Superintendent on safety issues.
• Oversee site-specific safety activities, including permit-required spaces, abatement, and lockout/tagout.
• Maintain the OSHA 300 log and keep safety reference materials available on site.
• Prepare and review monthly contractor safety self-evaluation checklist.
• Conduct first-day site safety orientations for all new employees.
