Manatal in Northampton, MA seeks an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to support a high-visibility federal project at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Leeds, MA. The SSHO will lead the safety program on site and manage compliance for masonry work.

You will conduct daily inspections, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and maintain training records while coordinating with Prime Contractor, government representatives, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Course required.
• CSP/CSHT certification or a related degree preferred.
• Experience managing safety on active construction projects.

Responsabilités

• Act as the lead safety official on site, ensuring OSHA standards and regulations compliance.
• Implement and maintain a site-specific APP.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, hazard analysis, and toolbox talks.
• Enforce compliance with safety protocols and address unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately.
• Oversee safety documentation management (SDS, incident logs, near-miss reports, corrective actions).
• Liaise between Prime Contractor, government reps, subcontractors, and workers on safety matters.
• Monitor activities related to structural concrete to ensure safe practices.
• Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety training records and certifications for all workers.
