Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for a Devens, MA project. You will provide on-site safety oversight for military base construction activities, ensure EM 385-1-1 compliance, review AHAs, and maintain safety documentation on a weekly, 40-hour schedule.

The role requires federal construction experience, OSHA 30, and active EM 385-1-1 training, plus a background in safety with federal or military projects. This is a contract position at a Devens base site.

Formación

• Minimum 5+ years of federal construction experience.
• Current OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Active EM 385-1-1 training or equivalent.
• At least 24 hours of safety and health competency training beyond OSHA 30.
• Experience supporting federal or military construction projects is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for the project.
• Provide daily field safety oversight for military base construction activities.
• Implement and maintain the project safety program per EM 385-1-1.
• Conduct routine inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review AHAs and pre-task planning; support safety documentation.
• Monitor lighting retrofit, solar field, and duct sealant work activities.
• Coordinate safety requirements with management, supervision, and subs.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee orientations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Maintain project safety paperwork, inspection records, and compliance reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture on the project.

Duration: 18 Months (Start: 11/2)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr
Per Diem: $150/Day on seven days
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | 40 Hours Per Week

Required Qualifications

• CHST, ASP, CSP, or Other BCSP Credential
• Experience Supporting Multi-Trade Federal Construction Projects

What You'll Be Doing
