Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a QC Manager (Federal Division) to lead the quality control program on a large federal project in the region. The role requires overseeing all QC activities, inspections, testing, and documentation to meet contract specifications and FAR requirements.

You will manage QC personnel, coordinate with engineers, customers, and regulatory agencies, and ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of construction quality control experience with a relevant degree or 10 years total construction experience with at least 5 years in QC roles.
• Must have completed the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course; if not current, complete within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations.
• ASQ or ISO certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an effective QC system to ensure contract compliance.
• Lead QC personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and development.
• Supervise QC Engineers, testing personnel, and other inspection staff to verify construction quality and adherence to specifications.
• Attend and lead coordination and mutual understanding meetings to align QC requirements with project execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hazard identification, and sustainability standards per EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA.
