Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Buildings Engineer - Federal in Overland Park, KS. This staff position supports U.S. Government projects, delivering HVAC and plumbing design, energy modeling, and REVIT drawing production in a hybrid work setting.

You will ensure codes compliance, coordinate across disciplines, and contribute to design and construction phase activities for new and renovated facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of building mechanical codes and ability to perform load calculations.
• HVAC and plumbing system design experience for industrial or commercial facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in the production of HVAC and plumbing deliverables (drawings, specs, calculations).
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
• Oversee energy modeling and life cycle cost analyses.
• Create 2D drawings in REVIT and support construction period services.
