Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Business Officer I (NS) to manage a portfolio of funding streams, coordinating across program, budget/finance, and contracts to ensure proper planning, implementation, and monitoring of funds.

This role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, federal and state funding coordination, and adherence to grant requirements, with a focus on performance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Two years of progressive related experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Owns a portfolio of funding streams (state, federal, and other sources) and ensures alignment with program intent and budgeting requirements.
• Coordinates across Program, Budget/Finance, and Contracts to plan, implement, and monitor funding.
• Bridges multiple funding sources and ensures execution meets funding constraints and contract obligations.
• Supports performance-based contracting and compliance with funding rules.
