Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Engineering and Design Team, working on electrical systems for federal facilities and infrastructure projects. You will gain exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while developing expertise in power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems.

You will collaborate with licensed engineers, perform calculations, and utilize Revit/AutoCAD to create designs, potentially traveling to project sites to support development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power.
• 1+ year of engineering experience, internship, or relevant academic project.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of NEC and building electrical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, layout, and equipment selections under licensed engineers.
• Develop knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Use Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools for modeling and analysis.
• Support project schedules, design coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration across teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and propose solutions to technical challenges.
• Maintain project information within the firm’s project management systems.
• May travel to project sites and federal installations to support design development and coordination.
