Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking an eDiscovery Technician to join our Legal team, supporting a federal agency with meticulous document processing, virus checks, and load-ready verification.

You will log productions, assess cover letters for loading into Relativity, and coordinate off-site scanning or transfer when needed, operating under strict security protocols and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Three years of eDiscovery technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree; alternative work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Knowledge of information resources.
• Excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Log the production in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System.
• Digest the cover letter and provide a brief production description.
• If the media is encrypted without a password, contact the producing party for the password.
• Determine if the cover letter qualifies for loading into Relativity.
• Virus scan the production off-network using multiple protection tools.
• If issues are detected, follow protocol to address or reject the production.
• Copy the clean production to the Agency's network.
• Handle documents per protocol (whistleblower, RFPA, MOUs, etc.).
• Analyze productions to determine required processing and protocol to follow.
• Analyze data to ensure completeness.
• If load-ready, verify all components are present and communicate issues if not.
• Monitor incoming productions via email and via the Agency FTP site.
• Scan and OCR small amounts of paper documents; coordinate off-site scanning for multi-box productions.
