Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an eDiscovery Technician to support the legal team within a large Federal agency in a full-time, mid-level capacity. The role requires handling productions, performing virus scans, and ensuring readiness for Relativity processing, with strong emphasis on communication and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will monitor email and FTP deliveries, coordinate off-site scanning when needed, and ensure data integrity through rigorous QA and protocol adherence.

Qualifications

• Three years of eDiscovery technical experience to analyze and synthesize information.
• Bachelor’s degree; three years of substituted experience allowed for degree exemption.
• Knowledge of information resources and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Experience managing multiple tasks related to duties above.
• U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Log production in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System.
• Digest long cover letters and provide brief production descriptions.
• Call producing party to obtain passwords for encrypted media without passwords.
• Determine if cover letters qualify for loading into Relativity.
• Virus scan production off-network using multiple virus protection tools.
• Follow protocol to address or reject issues detected in productions.
• Copy clean production to the Agency network.
• Handle documents per protocol (whistleblower, RFPA, MOUs, international, BSA, audio, transcripts, laptops, paper).
• Analyze productions to determine needed processing and applicable protocol.
• Analyze data to ensure completeness.
• If load-ready, verify components or inform Litigation Support Specialist if incomplete.
• Monitor for incoming productions via email.
• Monitor FTP site for productions; OCR small paper documents for loading.
• Coordinate off-site scanning for multi-box paper productions.
