Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an eDiscovery Technician to support the Legal Department within a large Federal agency. The role focuses on coordinating productions, validating data integrity, and applying Relativity workflows to ensure load-ready documents.

Responsibilities include virus scanning, password retrieval, and protocol-compliant handling of sensitive materials, with daily monitoring of email and FTP deliveries. Strong communication and defense of deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; three years of additional, directly relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Three years of eDiscovery technical experience in compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing information to support project task requirements.
• Knowledge of information resources.
• Excellent analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Experience managing multiple tasks as described above.
• U.S. Citizen required.
• Public Trust clearance ability required.

Responsibilities

• Log the production in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System.
• Digest long cover letters and describe the production briefly.
• Call producing party to obtain password if encrypted and password is not provided.
• Determine if cover letter contains info qualifying it for loading into Relativity.
• Virus scan production off-network using multiple virus protection tools.
• Address or reject issues per protocol if detected.
• Copy clean production to the Agency's network.
• Follow protocols when handling documents (e.g., whistleblower, RFPA, MOUs, international documents, BSA, audio files).
• Analyze productions to determine processing required and protocol to follow.
• Analyze data for completeness and report any missing components to Litigation Support Specialist.
• Monitor incoming productions via email and the Agency FTP site; OCR small paper documents for loading.
• Coordinate off-site scanning for multi-box paper productions.
