Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned Project Manager in the United States to lead Federal construction projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate contracts, ensure safety and quality, and communicate with federal clients and contractors to deliver on time and within budget.

This role requires travel and strong regulatory knowledge. The position emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, rigorous documentation, and adherence to agency standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage all phases of Federal construction projects to ensure successful execution within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and on-site personnel to maintain quality, safety, and compliance with requirements.
• Act as primary liaison between Federal government client’s construction branch, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Review construction documents to ensure alignment with FAR, standards, and codes.
• Lead pre-construction conferences, design and progress meetings, site inspections, and closeout activities.
• Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Track project performance metrics, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor and train junior staff on construction management best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation for submission to federal agencies.
