Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector specializing in welding and coating to observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, workmanship, materials and methods.

The role requires AWS CWI, NACE/SSPC coatings qualifications, ASNT NDT, and RMS experience, along with QA/safety plan review, change orders, RFIs, and coordination with government personnel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma plus 5+ years in construction welding inspections.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector per AWS QC1 with minimum 5 years in steel fabrication.
• NACE Level I or higher or SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1 with at least 2 years in coating inspection/testing.
• ASNT nondestructive testing qualification.
• AASHTO G4.2 knowledge preferred.
• Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process and RMS.

Responsibilities

• Observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects for compliance with plans, specs, workmanship, materials, and methods.
• Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
• Inspect coatings and testing of coating systems and methods of application.
• Inspect structural bolting methods and installation.
• Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor’s QA/QC systems and three-phase inspection process.
• Review site surveillance and assist owner with problem resolution.
• Review changes, RFIs, and submittals.
• Ensure QA and safety plans are followed by the contractor.
