Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector- Welding/Coating to monitor federal projects, inspect welds and coatings, and verify QA requirements. The role emphasizes adherence to plans, safety standards, and effective problem resolution on-site in Pittsburg, PA.

Qualifications include AWS QC1, ASNT, NACE/SSPC Level I+, and AASHTO bolting certification with experience in RMS and Three-Phase QC/Inspection processes.

Qualifications

• 5 years welding inspection experience; 2 years coatings and bolting inspections.
• AWS QC1 welding inspector certification required.
• NDT qualification to ASNT standard.
• Coatings inspection credentials: NACE/SSPC Level I+.
• Bolting inspection certification per AASHTO G4.2 preferred.
• Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 USACE safety manual recommended.
• Experience using RMS for project surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects for compliance.
• Perform welding inspections on steel fabrication.
• Handle shop practices: storage, cutting, bending, fit-up, and coatings.
• Inspect and test coatings and bolting methods.
• Provide recommendations to government personnel on plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor quality system and three-phase inspection process.
• Surveil sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
• Review change orders, RFIs, and submittals; monitor schedule.
• Ensure QA and safety plans are followed; use RMS.
