Kearney & Company is seeking an Accounting and Financial Reporting Consultant to support a major federal agency, including DON audit remediation, internal controls, and GAAP/SFFAS compliance. The role involves on-site collaboration in the DC area with opportunities to impact financial reporting and CAP development.

The position requires a BA/BS, 4+ years of relevant experience, 25% travel, and an Interim Secret Clearance. Strong writing, communication, and client-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive, relevant experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Minimum 2-3 days per week on site in Alexandria, VA or Washington, DC.
• Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with GAAP, SFFAS, and policies.
• Managing the day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the Kearney & Company Team Lead and client.
• Utilizing data analysis technology to analyze information.
• Analyze information and provide financial reporting and related remediation solutions.
• Support the review of draft and new Notifications of Findings and Recommendations (NFR), assess accuracy, identify root causes, document investigation, and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Review and update CAPs for open and reissued NFRs with actionable milestones and due dates.
• Drafting/updating communication artifacts (SOPs, Desktop Guides, whitepapers) with strong writing skills.
• Demonstrating customer service skills and ability to work under high pressure with tight deadlines.
• Directing and reviewing the work of Senior Associates.
• Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client.
