Job summary

OpenAI seeks a Federal Sales leader based in Washington DC with a hybrid work model and relocation assistance. You will manage key federal accounts, drive AI adoption, and collaborate with researchers, engineers, and solutions teams to deliver government programs.

You will own revenue targets, oversee consumption revenue forecasting, and shape federal strategies across agencies. This role requires 10+ years in federal SaaS sales and experience with government contracting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years selling SaaS into federal government accounts.
• Experience achieving federal revenue targets >$2M per year.
• Designing and executing complex federal deal strategies with procurement processes.
• Growing in fast-paced federal environments.
• Direct interaction with senior government executives and agency leaders.
• Clear communication of technical/strategic concepts to government customers and stakeholders.
• Leading high-visibility federal customer events and engagements.
• Gathering and distilling federal market intelligence (agency priorities, policy changes, competitors).

Responsibilities

• Manage a focused set of key federal accounts and develop comprehensive account plans.
• Lead federal customers through AI adoption from consideration to deployment.
• Partner with solutions and research engineering on government programs and projects.
• Own and manage a federal consumption revenue target and forecast.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to inform product roadmaps and strategies.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of federal-focused team members.
