Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Government Sales leader to drive national security AI adoption with a focus on Defense and Intelligence Community customers. The role combines strategic planning, partnership management, and revenue responsibility across a focused set of US defense accounts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years selling commercial technology to the National Security Community.
• Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with government contracting, security clearances, and procurement processes.
• Experience in fast-paced National Security environments.
• Ability to communicate technical and strategic concepts to National Security customers.
• Experience leading high-visibility National Security events and engagements.
• Ability to gather, distill, and act on defense market intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Manage a focused set of US Defense and Intelligence Community accounts with actionable account plans.
• Lead Defense and Intelligence customers through their AI adoption journey.
• Partner with solutions and research engineering to build and execute defense programs.
• Own and manage a National Security Community consumption revenue target.
• Oversee revenue forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor the national security landscape to inform roadmaps and strategy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with solutions, product, government affairs, marketing, and finance.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of defense-focused team members.
• Foster the development of the National Security Community practice.
