Job summary

Cursor is seeking a Strategic Account Executive, Federal Sales to drive revenue in the DC metro area. You will partner with engineering teams to demonstrate how Cursor boosts developer productivity, security, and scale across federal agencies.

You will own federal accounts, lead complex cycles, become a product expert, build executive relationships, quantify ROI, and influence the product roadmap with customer feedback. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own a named federal account book; drive new agency acquisition and long-term growth.
• Lead multi-threaded sales cycles across Engineering, Product, Security, Procurement and Legal.
• Become a trusted product expert; guide federal trials, security reviews, and large-scale rollouts.
• Build executive relationships and day-to-day champions across agencies and technical teams.
• Quantify ROI tied to developer productivity, AI adoption, and secure software delivery.
• Represent the federal customer and feed product roadmap with procurement feedback.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering and AI Deployment to move from proof of concept to rollout.
