Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a Project Manager for wide-area aerial lidar and remote sensing programs serving federal clients. You will own scope, schedule, budget and quality, coordinating flight planning, survey, processing and delivery while guiding internal teams and subcontractors.

You will report to the Federal Operations Manager and help grow the federal program by instituting repeatable project controls and staffing plans.

Qualifications

Experience delivering wide-area lidar projects for federal clients.
Knowledge of USGS 3DEP/3DHP and USACE/NOAA project workflows.
Ability to manage budgets, schedules and client communications.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple federal aerial lidar and remote sensing projects from kickoff to delivery.
Serve as primary client contact and coordinate cross‑team activities.
Own budgets, schedules, earned value, reporting and invoicing.
Identify risks early and develop mitigation and change requests.
Contribute to proposals, staffing plans and technical approaches.
Communicate priorities and keep tracking tools current.
Assess workload and plan staffing, training and subcontract needs.
Mentor staff and support hiring and onboarding for growth.
Help develop standard procedures and project controls for the federal program.
