Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a Customs FDA Lead Customs Entry Writer to join our team. The role coordinates day-to-day workflow and complex escalations within priorities set by the Supervisor, bridging front-line entry writing with supervisory oversight.

You will provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Entry Writers on FDA/PGA regulatory requirements, monitor FDA holds with agencies, and manage cross-site clearance and queue routing to ensure timely shipments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of customs entry-writing or brokerage experience.
• Familiar with FDA/PGA-regulated shipments.
• Strong knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements and PGA clearance processes.
• 2+ years leading or coordinating roles preferred.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage high volumes and competing priorities.
• Self-sufficient and proactive communicator.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary escalation point for FDA and PGA clearance matters, resolving holds and agency issues to ensure entry production continuity.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Entry Writers on FDA/PGA regulatory requirements and clearance procedures.
• Monitor active FDA holds with FDA, CBP and other agencies, coordinating release and tracking shipments near deadlines.
• Manage FDA shipment queue, ensuring proper routing and progress; re-route as needed.
• Review Bond Reports for CBP/PGA holds and identify root causes for corrective actions.
• Handle inbound escalations from customers, Sales, origin contacts and agencies; advise on FDA relevance and requirements.
• Process RTO shipments and support FDA exam staging for shipments awaiting inspection.
• Coordinate cross-site holds with clearance teams and maintain trackers for hold management.
